At the moment we're redesigning the website so the blurb about our little sewing school has been put aside for editing. In the meantime, here's a bit about me (in case you're interested!)... I have been sewing for as long as I can remember. I started (like so many others) with stapling and gluing fabric together to create garments for my Barbies and stuffed toys, and after some patient coaching from my mother I was eventually able to make my own clothes. Unfortunately they were not very good! I've always wanted a quick fix when it comes to sewing so if there was a shortcut, I found it. Luckily at fashion school they were able to tame my wild ways somewhat, and by the time I graduated from Massey University in Wellington with a Master of Design in 2008 I understood the ins and outs of design, patternmaking, and sewing. This is where the blurb about the company is supposed to go! In the meantime let's just say that 2-years, many business workshops, and a couple of false starts later, The Fashion Workshop was born. Stay tuned for the rest... Is there a garment that you'd like to make that we don't already offer as a workshop? Tell us about it and we'll do our best to offer it!
